The Tokyo Organising Committee of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games opened its Tokyo 2020 Official Shop Ikebukuro East in the major consumer electronics retailer Bic Camera’s main Ikebukuro store. With only a year to go until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the Tokyo 2020Ikebukuro East shop became the third branch to retail official licensed merchandise in order to raise excitement and momentum for the Games.

In these three official retailer outlets in Tokyo, visitors can see and buy a wide range of Tokyo 2020 Official Licensed Products that are only available in Japan for now. As the Tokyo Olympics organizers are developing the products every season and presently offering about 1,000 items, it may be difficult for some foreign travelers to get an idea of what is available at the shops and what is suitable for them.

So there are some recommendations that you should know before visiting the Tokyo 2020 Official Shops.

1. It is a dream come true for anime fans in the world! Eight popular manga and anime characters of Japan, including Astro Boy, Crayon Shin-chan, Sailor Moon, One Piece, Yo-kai Watch, Dragon Ball Super, Maho Girls, and Naruto: Shippuden, have come together for the first time in history! This collaborative effort by multiple Japanese publishers has raised the momentum for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games by engaging not only with the youth of Japan but also with foreign visitors. Since its launch in 2016, various types of products such as bento box, chopsticks, mug cup, T-shirts, polo shirts, cap, and tote bag are available.

2. A Folding fan (traditional fan of Japan: Sensu) is one of the most popular items for international visitors. It may be difficult to find it in the store for a first-timer because its shape is a rectangle. So please check this photo to make sure you do not miss this popular item.
