The flagship official Rugby World Cup 2019 Megastore, located in one of the world’s busiest locations, is going to open in Tokyo, Japan on 22 August.

With the world’s rugby family celebrating 50 days to go and the final countdown to rugby’s biggest event of the year, the 1,000sqm megastore will be located in Shinjuku Odakyu Park in front of the busiest train station of the world in Shinjuku, which is a transport hub for over 3.6 million people every day.

The amazing news for rugby fans is that master licensee IMG Licensing has appointed Legends as the official retail partner and operator for Rugby World Cup 2019, operating 73 official merchandise stores of the host nation.

It will offer the complete Rugby World Cup 2019 range, including must-have souvenirs from the sport event and apparel for men, women, and kids as well as providing a number of exciting experiences for fans.

Brett Gosper, World Rugby Chief Executive, has said that the official merchandising program is a Rugby World Cup success and the opening of the flagship store in one of the most iconic and busiest locations in the world underscores why they believe that Japan 2019 will be a very special tournament for fans.

Each of the host cities will have dedicated fan zones, so Legends plans to open an official store at each of these venues as well as in-stadia.

Nick Price, International Chief Commercial Officer of Legends, said: “We are excited to engage with Rugby World Cup as the following step in the expansion of our leading event retail offerings platform. The Rugby World Cup 2019Megastore and the other 73 locations will offer the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable experience at such a great event.
